The Holy Eucharist

The structure and tone of our service is quiet, ancient, and reverent. The service, or Mass, is sung-chanted in English at Church of Saint Francis, and includes the use of incense and reverential postures of bowing, kneeling, and the crossing of oneself. The priest and people face the Holy Altar. This orientation facilitates a sacred and contemplative presence with Jesus Christ in, and through, the Holy Communion that He established.

Our Mass is based upon the Traditional, or Tridentine Mass, but with the elimination of all references to Jesus Christ as being an atoning sacrifice to an angry Father. Instead, Christ is regarded as an exemplar of human-Divine integration and possibility. Because our Lord Jesus Christ modeled an all-encompassing Divine Love and extended assurance of Divine forgiveness to all, we offer the Sacrament of Holy Communion to all who approach it with respect and reverence.

Service to Our Lady

The Liberal Catholic Church recognizes and pays deep homage to the maternal aspect of divinity, the mother-nature of God. The latter is looked upon as all-pervading, unfathomable, divine mystery. It brings forth and nourishes all created life. Its highest expression is the World Mother as represented by the Holy Lady Mary whose tender care for all women and children and for all who suffer supplements the divine ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. This divine principle is shown forth on earth in the sanctity of life and the mystery of birth and by the sacrifice and love of human motherhood which call forth our deepest reverence and respect.

The Rosary is generally associated with the tradition of Roman Catholic Christianity, but because the rosary method is excellent for the development of the spiritual life, there are rosary practices in two other of the world's great religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. The Rosary is, in fact, valuable esoteric spiritual development method - a method which places in the hand of the Rosarian (the Rosary user) a process of receiving angelic aid and a process for attunement to the Seven Rays.

Prime

Prime is a morning office of the church and can be led by laity if no clergy are available. Prime and the evening office Complin are suitable for home prayer and individual devotions, as well as for use at retreats.
